What is IBS?
A long-term functional digestive disorder with recurring pain, bloating and changes in bowel habit. On tests the gut looks structurally normal, yet it behaves unpredictably.
What are the main symptoms of IBS?
Abdominal pain or discomfort, gas, bloating, constipation or diarrhoea, changes in bowel habit, and a feeling of incomplete evacuation.
Can yoga be practised with IBS?
Yes — gentle, well-chosen practice is generally supportive. Practise under guidance and stay within comfort.
Is diet important in IBS?
Very. What you eat, how much and when you eat all influence how the day goes.
Can stress affect IBS symptoms?
Yes — the gut and mind are closely linked, and stress commonly makes symptoms more noticeable.
